If the answer is YES, then read on.

Where do you meet?

The rehearsal studios in Herne Bay.
See below for address and link to map.

Do I have to be a member?

Not for the read through or auditions.  If you join a production, you will pay a membership and show fee before the first rehearsal.  See below for 2007 fees.

Do I have to audition?

No, or to be a member of the chorus.
If you wish to be considered for a principal part, there is an informal audition in front of a small audition panel (in private!)

This all sounds a bit scary!

We all know what its like taking the plunge and meeting new people for the first time.  We promise you a warm welcome and lots of help and encouragement to make you feel at home.

Sounds good!  What do I do now?

Just come along and meet us on 2nd October!   For more information about the show, email Jo (address on left).

Or, for a general chat, email Susan on
theatrecraft@btopenworld.com
If you let us have your phone number, we'll get back to you quickly.

All the World's a Stage........why not join us on ours?

What's the best way to get started?

Come along and meet us!   Rehearsals are twice a week - Tuesdays and Thursday at the HBOS Rehearsal Rooms in Arkley Road, Herne Bay.
MapThursday are social nights, and a good opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat.   Occasionally there are short periods between shows when we do not rehearse, so send us an email first, so we can confirm times and make sure someone is there to welcome you

Is Theatrecraft suitable for all ages?

Yes, definitely.    We have members of all ages, backgrounds and interests, including several families, with at least two generations active in the Society.   You need to be 14 to join (as a junior member.)
We have a long standing tradition in encouraging younger or more inexperienced actors to fulfil their potential!

Do I have to audition to join Theatrecraft?

No.   Your membership must be accepted by the committee and you are then welcomed by the Membership Secretary, who will generally "show you the ropes"

Do I have to audition to be in a production?

Only for principal parts.  Chorus and cameo parts may (rarely) be auditioned at the discretion of the director.

Is there any point in joining if I don't want to act?

Definitely!    Many of our members support productions backstage and also enjoy our regular social events.   There is something for everyone, so give it a go.

What membership options are there?

Please see below

I don't want to join, but would like to support Theatrecraft

You can still get involved a Friend of Theatrecraft.  You will get advance notice of productions and also a discount off ticket sales.

If you represent a local business, why not consider becoming a Theatrecraft Sponsor?  You can sponsor us for a year or just for one production.   Yearly sponsors are mentioned on all our publicity and can also have a special sponsorship link and advert on our Home Page.

How much does it cost?

About 30p a week - making it the cheapest hobby around!   Please note there is a fee of £5.00 per production for performers.  This does not apply to back stage and members of the support team.  Membership and Show fees MUST be paid on or before the first rehearsal of any show you are involved in.
