The Playhouse, Whitstable
27th to 29th March 2008
Murder, madness, passion, ghosts, and
retribution are the themes of this drama by Paul Thain.
Set in the Edwardian era, but with a
very modern sensibility, this gripping and compelling play is
Theatrecraft's entry in the 2008 Kent Drama Festival

2008 - Theatrecraft's 60th Anniversary!
It is now 60 years since we produced our very first
production
"The Barratts of Wimpole Street". Hundreds of plays, musicals,
reviews and pantomimes later, we are revving up to celebrate our birthday
in style!
Beginning with an exciting programme of entertainment,
including the well loved "Wizard of Oz" in July, we culminate the year
with a grand Dinner Dance this September, when we hope to welcome back
some old members to the society.

Theatrecraft is a
thriving amateur society, affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic
Association
NODA.
With three productions a year, including a summer musical, a pantomime and a
play, there is always something for everyone to enjoy. A society for all
seasons!
Herne Bay on the
North Kent coast. See
map. Rehearsals
are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thursday is also social night, with all welcome
at the rehearsal room in Arkley Road.
There are year round
activities for everyone, including backstage, lighting, sound and wardrobe.
Plus regular social events. If you live in East Kent and would like to
be involved in a friendly, active group, why not come along and talk to us?

New Set Store and
Wardrobe
During the autumn of 2007, we were delighted
to finally find much needed space for our set, props and wardrobe.
The storage is a derelict building that has been empty for more than
ten years. A regular team of volunteers have been working hard
to renovate the store, including complete rewiring, new windows,
restoring water and power, as well as hacking down undergrowth worthy
of Sleeping Beauty!

We have already received much needed funding from
local companies and organisations, but more is needed.....

It's been a busy time on the social front,
with beach BBQs, a very enjoyable Race Night and with our Winter Party at
the end of November.
Our next social event is a NOSH AND KNOWLEDGE at Arkley Road on
7th March. Tickets £5.00 phone susan for details.
We also support the Herne Bay community, taking regular part in the
Carnival and Winter Wonderland. |
